norway_MIMIC

Omsorgsbygg Oslo KF in collaboration with Arkitema Architects will build the world's first energy-positive nursing home for elderly (Tåsenhjemmet) with low greenhouse gas emissions. The pilot building in massive wood will enable the best indoor environment for the residents and be the new meeting venue in the neighbourhood of Tåsen. A main goal is to use the most simple and passive measures that enables to meet the requirements for low emission energy-plus houses. Another high ambition for the project is to be certified as BREEAM-NOR Outstanding.

To reach the political targets of CO2-emissions reduction Omsorgsbygg build zero emission buildings, and have focused on developing zero emission construction sites since 2016. Through the MIMIC project Omsorgsbygg are targeting the transportation to and from the construction site. Omsorgsbygg Oslo KF will contribute in the MIMIC by testing he applicability of the methods and solutions to reduce negative impact of construction activity.

The MIMIC project will test and demonstrate

The Smart Governance Concept, developed in the CIVIC project, will be adapted to Norwegian conditions by SINTEF and tested with the demonstration partner Omsorgsbygg, and relevant stakeholders. Through the Tåsenhjemmet pilot project, new, innovative tools and methods will be tested in the planning and production phase for a Norwegian construction site. The goal of the testing is to increase the understanding of the link between on-site and off-site activities and how this can give more efficient and environmental-friendly construction logistics scenarios relevant for the Norwegian case. The aim is to demonstrate a co-creative decision-making process that can be implemented in other projects. (In addition, the international research project will give recommendations for the implementation of construction logistics solutions at a larger scale, with several construction sites, and for the city level.)
